The Inspiration Behind the Painting

Spring has long been my favourite season, a time when the landscape begins to awaken with new growth, colour and life after the stillness of winter. Each day brings subtle transformation: wildflowers bloom across the meadows, birdsong returns to the air and wildlife begins to nourish itself and rebuild once more.

Living and working in rural France, I draw continual inspiration from the changing rhythms of the countryside and the emotional atmosphere held within the natural world. For me, spring represents hope, renewal and the quiet resilience of life itself.

The painting also reflects the sense of peace that arrives with the end of the winter hunting season, when the landscape feels calmer and nature is once again allowed to breathe and flourish undisturbed.

Through Awakened Meadow, I seek to create more than a landscape painting. I invite the viewer into an emotional experience of immersion within nature, a moment of pause, presence and reconnection in an increasingly fast and fragmented world.
